Case story: Training helped to initiate the business (Fish shop business)

Mrs. Urmila Budha a residence of Urahari VDC ward no.5 from Urahari village is a 35 years old woman. She has a family of 4 members. She is from a poor background family with normal socioeconomic status. Her main source of income was labor work. It was difficult for her to run her family with the money earned from the labor work so she wanted to start a new business, but she was confused about choosing the business.

Later on when SEED organization formed a women group named “Puspanjali women group” then she also joined in the group. She continued depositing some amounts in the women group monthly and also was actively participating in every women group meetings and discussions. She was expecting some job oriented skillful training from the organization so that she can start her new business and run her family smoothly.

As a consequence, SEED organization in cooperation with D.K.A Austria through Bhagya Krishi Cooperative organization organized a 3 days business capacity building training. She also took the training and started her new business of fresh fish selling nearby junction of Urahari VDC. Now, she sells around 10kg to 15kg of fishes to the customer regularly in the morning and evening. From that business she says, she is earning net income around Rs 700 to Rs. 1000 regularly cutting the expenses needed to operate the business. This income has helped her greatly to run the family. In the future, she has planned of making small fish ponds in her small land to run the fish farming business. She says she is happy from her business of fish supplying to the customers and expresses her happiness and gratitude towards the SEED organization and D.K.A Austria for supporting her in generating her new income source.
